How would one texture map this??

Hello all ye cg fans,

I would like to know how one would go about text mapping this.. so that i could, lets say, make his belly stripped and his back spotted, with differences in color in his arms and legs ect..ect... (basically how do i texture map stuff??)

-i did the model in 15ish minutes all from one sphere :/, dont judge it! hehe :)

UVW modyfier and Texporter is always a start! :)
Texporter is a free plugin, get it here!
Try searching on "mapping" or "texturing"
