hy im new here sowe i whil introduce my self my name is eddie schwartz i have been working with 3d max for about 6 months just as a hobby i dont have any education in the 3d field .
ok her's my qeustion im working on a kickass axe,
and modelt some blood on the edges of the axe and tryed to make some blood tex in max no bitmaps but it doesnt look very realistic does anyone have any tips for me on making the blood map
i would post a pic but did not find the uploader yet ....thnx alot

I would paint it in photo shop like I paint all my textures in.

it depends on what you want the blood to look like.  if the edge of the blade is just tainted with it then i would try and make it deeper in color and with less reflection.  large amounts of blood would prolly look fresh and have small amounts of gloss and reflection.  try uping the specular levels and the glossyness levels and maybe at some sort of reflect map to it ???
