Job Summary:
Balance Worlds is looking for a top-notch Environment Concept Artist to create high quality 2D mood pieces and props. Work with the Art Director to visually communicate the Creative Director’s ultimate vision, and push the art quality to its limits.

• Help pre-visualize the look, feel, and mood of our games
• Create environment concepts and orthographic views of prop in various art styles
• Create in-game 2D assets and visual effects

Required Qualifications:
• Must speak English and Chinese Mandarin
• At least 2 years of experience as a concept artist
• Exceptional creativity and problem solving skills
• The ability to create and quickly iterate on sketches
• Excellent with Adobe Photoshop
• Strong traditional and digital art skills with a focus on strong design, composition, lighting, color theory, technical drawing
• Basic understanding of human anatomy
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to take direction well

Preferred Qualifications:
• A love for playing videogames and good instincts for game design
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premier, After Effects, and Maya
• Experience developing art assets for video games

Portfolio Requirements:
• Present no more than twenty of your best environment pieces
• Include thumbnails and silhouette studies, sketch ideations, and speed paintings
• Provide works ranging in different art styles, from realistic to stylized or cartoon-y
• Provide samples of figure drawings or still life
