Freelance Character Artist available
By fat_cap on Oct 14, 2008 09:11 AM
Hi I am freelance character artist and designer, specialising in character design and production, currently working in the games industry and am on the lookout for any freelance work - from print to games, pre-vis concepting to finished high-poly sculpts.

I am comfortable with all aspects of character creation, from concepting and design through to final renderings and animation. I always deliver work on time and to spec and have worked with and had repeat work major clients such as large automobile manufacturers through to television series and film work.

Examples can be found on my website www.SamChester.co.uk

Here are some examples of my most recent work.

Examples of some "finished" assets - note these are just renders from MAX with a simple light setup and diffuse, normal and spec textures. There were plans to stylise the shaders to reflect the initial concept artwork and style tests but these never got implemented.

I just thought I would update this with my newest character to show what I have been working on in my spare time recently - a royal guard from the Caprinae herd.

100% realtime renders from Max viewport using Laurens Corijn's Direct X shader utilizing realtime shadows, depth of field and ambient occlusion to simulate cutting edge realtime game engines.

I am now available again for fulltime remote freelance or in house work. I am a 3D artist with over 6 years of industry experience, specialising as a character artist. I have worked in and have experience in games, television and advertising and also realtime applications.
