how to add to the standard 24 materials in3Dstudio
By Bigl on Feb 19, 2002 12:00 AM
Hi all, I'm new to this forum so I'll introduce myself. I'm a student at the Design Academy Eindhoven and currently on my internship at Kooymansd-sign here in Eindhoven. My question is, how can I add more than the standard maximum of 24 materials available in 3D studio VIZ 2 (basically the same as MAX with a few differences)
? Thanx alot, already, cheers, Bas Re: how to add to the standard 24 materials in3Dstudio

Simply put, you can't.
But, if VIZ works like Max, here's what you CAN do: When you;re done editing a material, you can delete it. You'll get the option to delete it from the scene entirely or just from the material editor. If you just delete it from the material editor, it's still on whatever objects you assigned it to, you just can't edit it. This makes room for a new material. If you ever need to edit one of the old ones, you just delete another from the material editor, and use the Get Material dialog to select which object to get the material from. Poof, problem solved.
