Help with linking

I have a character playing cards, with the cards linked to one hand. I want the other hand to reach up, take a card and put it on the table. That means transferring the link to the second hand and then deleting it altogether when the card is on the table. Can anyone tell me how to do this, as I cannot work out how to link and unlink on a keyframe. Thanks.
