wiring self illumination to .wav file

Hi Again,

I'm also trying to make a self illumination animate so it gets brighter with the 'volume' of a wav file (The wav file wil be some speech & I want the self illumination to look a bit like that robots mouth from buck rogers "twikkie' or whatever his name was)

is there some expression controller to do this or wiring or sumthing?
