How do you make hair ?

Basically the topic sums it up. I want to be able to put a nice head of hair on my cubject but i dont know how to make it. Any tips would be appreciated. Thankz

i really dont know which book would be good...i learned max all on my own and looking at tutorials for general techniques...
after a while youll notice that you can combine the techniques to make quite stunning art..
i never used a book to learn from...so recomending a book is rather hard for me :)
im quite sure there are lots of other people that are dying to share with you from their experience.. come on people..help this poor ol' chap out a little..:)

I wish I have a book to look of for hepl some times. But unfortunatly I have not even seen a 3DSMax book here in Australia. It be quicker than finding tutorials.

Inside 3d studio max 3 is a very good book you might want to look at.

It includes the full size images maps I used....

one mistake you made in thathair tutorial is that ( im not sure if you did this, because i didnt read it..but...you didnt assign your opacity map to specular level this helps a lot in making realistic looking hair.)

If this is of any use to you, hair is SOOOOOO easy to do using the Shag-HAIR plugin from Digimation.
it is very very fast and good.
Shag-Fur is also available, if you are modelling animals.
