Painting Stuff

Hi, there !

It´s good to see everybody back, this is a great place to hang out .

One of the most tedious parts of 3D is geting your textures right and I think programs like Painter3D help keep the feel of this emerging artform .

(but) Recently, I´ve heard someone thrashing this program, so I´d like to know what´s wrong with it because the concept of directly painting on a model really, really attracts me .

Has any of you ever used it ?

try texture weapons, or get texporter for max, it's free. I think max3d.com has it.

Thank you for the link, I´ve just came from max3D and Texporter is for Max 2.0, do you know if there´s a version of it that works on 3.1 ?

This release stuff can get upsetting, I´ve recently spent an entire afternoon downloading clothreyes, jetareyes, dirtyreyes and all those fellas (at their website, for free!!!! :D :D :D ) and it turned out they were only for Max 3.0 .

they have a texporter for r3 their, what version of max do u have?

I have 3D Studio Max release 3.1 .

plugs for 3 work in 3.1
same engine with a patch is all diffrence, no between 2 and 2.5 thats not always the case

Then why can´t I get Clothreyes, dirtyreyes and the rest of the Metareyes family (made for 3.0) to work on 3.1 ?

I receive a plugin loading error message whenever I start a Max session .

All my ´eyes plugins are working fine (they´re amazing, I still can´t believe the developers actually gave them away for free ) .

I´ve officially made a personal crusade to hunt down Texporter (or any such product) and add it to my list of software .

That´s right, wanted dead or alive is the name of the game now ! :)

...and another setback crosses my artistic endeavors;

I found Texporter easily enough and installed it on my plugin directory right away, but when I open the Utilities window where it should be, it isn´t .

Could it be that the Roswsell´s grey dudes are at it again ?

P.S. : I got myself a taste of Painter 3D and it...well, let´s say the rumours were true .

It looks good, but I also have UVmaper, so it´s time to set them against each other .

I found out UV maper handles itself pretty well on Poser-related subjects, but please : Texporter was SPECIFICALLY built for Max ; it´s playing at home, the cheerleaders are prettier and I suspect the referee was bought .

Try using Right Hemisphere's DEEP PAINT 3D + TEXTURE WEAPONS (www.righthemisphere.com). You can download a trial version that will give you exactly what you are looking for.  I recently downloaded it and it was a piece of cake.
