Money for Art

As one looking in future years to enter the world of digital art, I'm most interested in how much money such a trade brings in.
Understanding that some of you are already in the business professionally, might it be too bold of me to request some figures? I'm thinking along the lines of how much one would get working for a major effects house like ILM as a digital artist.
Any statistics would be much appreciated.

Should be 30-50k/year, to start, depending on how good you are. But don't start thinkin' that getting into ILM is easy. It's just easier than getting into Pixar ;)

im guessing around 40-100?.
( though that 100 would go to people who been in this field for a WHILE>>>>

UK - Graduate= 15K regardless of how good u r.

UK - 2 years exp = 25-35k

UK - 7+ years exp (+ badass portfolio) = 50K+
