Maya Lighting Question. Technique for realism

Thank you for your time. I've been on 3D for a month now and I'm mastering Maya, 3DS, Softimage and Blender but I feel comfortable with Maya's modeling whcih I'm mastering more than the others. I did the Temple tutorial on the Learning Edition and I'd like to know how do you make objects look realistic. What kinds of light, how many and what value should I give to their attributes (tranlate, rotate, diffuse, etc) and what value should I give the temple's shader?
The shader I have on the temple was assigned a new material, everything is default and is called the templeShader. I'm using the learning edition mental ray as the renderer (default settings). God bless, Alvin By ikHandle on Oct 30, 2004 11:34 PM
