Maya Lighting Question. Technique for realism
By alvin777 on Oct 19, 2004 01:46 AM
Thank you for your time. I've been on 3D for a month now and I'm mastering Maya, 3DS, Softimage and Blender but I feel comfortable with Maya's modeling whcih I'm mastering more than the others. I did the Temple tutorial on the Learning Edition and I'd like to know how do you make objects look realistic. What kinds of light, how many and what value should I give to their attributes (tranlate, rotate, diffuse, etc) and what value should I give the temple's shader?

The shader I have on the temple was assigned a new material, everything is default and is called the templeShader. I'm using the learning edition mental ray as the renderer (default settings).

God bless,
Alvin
