weighting  NURBS(shoulders)
By newtonboyy on Aug 19, 2002 11:29 PM
i have a character that i modeled in Maya 4 with NURBS but i'm having trouble weighting the shoulder where the torso and arm meet.  i'm smooth skinning so if anyone has any suggestions or tips, they would be much appreciated.

Would also like to know the answer to this one. I have had similar probles, albeit on a different platform, lightwave.

It seems in general it comes down to design and if the offending shoulders can be covered with shoulder pads or the character given skinny cartoon styley arms all the better.

Anyway hopefully someone can shed some light on the matter.

depends on the patch layout could we see a screenshot or something like that?
for my nurbs character i have used a wrapdeformer due to the high resoulution geometrie and about 400 patches it was to hard for me to paint the weights directly onto the patches so for me it was the best solution and it works really fine and i dont know anybody i could ask about patchmodelling or skinning multi patches anyway
