connect edges???

how can i connect edges of an poly-object
in max 4?
i can't find it in the manual or the user reference.

please help me!

its not the actual edges that you connect, but the verticses at the ends of the edge

and you connect them using the funktion "weld".

i know that it's possible to weld edges, but it's also possible to connect edges!
i had seen this in a video, someone build a character by using this option.

ok  - i had no idea you could do that.

ok right may sound silly started using max at uni, i need to weld to planes together lets say 2 parts of the ground in a scene but cant work it out at all. anyone help?

in edit oply can weld vertices on the same model together but cant select 2 different models and conecet the two and cant find any help anywhere.................... i am relying on you :)

Both the planes have to be editable meshes, and then you have to select one and then attach the other. You don't attach individual edges or vertices, but rather the whole object. There is an attach button somewhere on the modify panel. Once you have attached it then it is all one object. Only then can you weld vertices.

you could try just collapsing the edges.
