modeling head using splines
By Merabi on Feb 11, 2002 05:50 PM
I'm noob in using 3dsmax, but trying to model a human head using spline.

It wasn't really bad until to model the face itself, but the toughest part (well, at least for me it is) is fixing the wrincles on the surface.

I'm trying to fix those wrincles by adjusting each vertex, but it takes too much time!!  Is there any easier way to fix these annoying things??

Thanx!

chances are you have too many polygons in the face... try removing some of them...

check out this site(http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons/3ddocs/facialmodeling/modeling.html) and keep you spline cage simple . also keep your steps at 1 and use meshsmooth
hope that helps

If you're not totally tied to Max for modeling, try Animation Master which is a killer spline modeler -- very, very fast and easy to use, and you can export models to 3DS and DXF for use elsewhere.
