Windows&Doors
By Derock on Sep 27, 2001 02:52 PM
Hello everyone,
I am pretty new to 3DStudio. I used to use Bryce 3D and MilkShape 3D. I am working on a castle for a map my bro is making, I have got the basic shape and now I need to start cutting out holes for the windows and doors and such......but I dont know how to. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how or give me a link to a tutorial. I'll post a pick of the finished product once I learn.
Thank you very much in advance.
:)

Boolean- it's in compound objects under the create menu. You need to model the shape of the hole you want, then stick it through your object, then use the boolean menu.

Or, if you have enough subdivisions on your castle you could just extrude inwards, but you might have trouble with uncooperative edges.
Good luck!

Cut out the polygones where the door or window will be and put there your window or door.
the best way is if you use edit mesh
