Fresh, out of Cinema4d
By ruimac on Apr 11, 2002 07:54 AM
Just finished this first "rough". I call it "rough" because the client may still want to change something ;)
Anyway, it is a very popular plant in my country and it is related to a special religious season that will be happening in a couple of months called "Santos Populares". It is really nice to do organic modeling in Cinema4D :) Rui Batista ![]() p.s. I didn't loose too much time with the vase ;D good modelling

i'm really looking forward to a complete scene surrounding this plant!

Probably I will not be the one doing the composition. I will just provide the "bricks" for another guy create the whole "builing" in Photoshop.
Thank you very much for the compliment :) Forgot to say that the whole plant was modeled in around 40 minutes and it has 1539 leafs ;D Rui Batista Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d

Hi Rui,
looks very good. How many different leaves did you model? How did you arrange them? Surface Painter? Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d
By ruimac on Apr 11, 2002 08:20 AM
I just modeled one. Then I made an array with six more copies and then, after converting them to polygonal objects, I changed each one a bit with the magnet tool. Three aditional smaller leafs were placed at the center.
So, the "module" has 9 leafs. Then, I placed them (randomly rotated around the normal and with 20% random scaling) on the surface of a roughned sphere using good old Particle Target (I really love this plug-in) I don't have Surface Painter :( Rui Batista Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d

Thanks Rui, for sharing your way of modelling this cool plant.
Please post the final, when finished, will you? Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d

The image is there ???
The problem is that my host (www.brinkster.com) has the bad habit of only making my folders available while I'm on and have a window opened to there. Only then, the rest of the work has access to my folders. Anyone knows of a free web host (without banners or pop-ups) that behaves better? I would be happy to change. Even if it is only for placing images, movies or C4D files. This way I could make them accessible for everyone. Rui Batista Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d

Hi,
yeah it works. Pretty cool picture! With the webhost I canīt help you. There was a really good host that was for free (freedom2surf) but is now commercial. I had PHP. Perl, 20 MB Webspace, MySQL and some stuff more and without any popups or banners. A real pity! When I find something iīll post it here. Cu Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d

I also have modeling, illustration, video editing, book writing and house keeping to do. And so little time to do it. And I even try some COFFEE programing sometimes ;) Rui Batista Re: Fresh, out of Cinema4d
