anyone know why....

....my mouse pointer is off in the viewport??? like i click to drag out a selection box and its all sorts off not were the mouse is... ill click in the upper right corner and the selection box will be in the middle of the viewport....it seems to be pretty constant..like its about 1 inch off from were i click. say  for example:

i click here      X

                                        the selection box will start here X

then go out wich ever way i drag...if anyone has had this problem or knows what im talkin about  hook it up with how to fix it please..thanks
