How to center an object lost in space?
By Evelyne on Jul 27, 2002 09:00 AM
How do I center an imported object, that is somewhere in space and NOT IN PROPORTION with other objects ?

I imported an object, but when I create lights to iluminate it, the lights show up somewhere else, but not where the object is.

I tried to center pivot and translate 0,0,0. Where can I compare proportions and make this imported object fit into my regular Maya layout?

First you will have to say from which package are you importing from?
And always try to use same measure units while you model ....
If you want to see the model just  select it in the outlier and hit "F" button which will frame the object in the viewport and then you can see how big it is and scale it apropriately...
hope this helps...
