Is Z Brush any good?

I read a lil' bit about it and it seems kinda silly.. please give me some opinions on it.

ZBrush seems silly?  First time I've heard that one!  But I imagine it would depend upon what you intend to use it for...

ZBrush is unique in the graphic arts world, being a blend of 2D, 2.5D and 3D capabilities.  The end result is that it bridges the gap between 2D and 3D apps in ways that can be pretty surprising.  Here are a few pluses:

• [*:df7371e1cb]Real-Time rendering.  Almost everything that you could want to do happens real time.  No waiting for test renders.[*:df7371e1cb]Model like working with clay, rather than a CAD program.  ZBrush modeling starts with one of nearly a dozen 3D primitives (which are each able to be initialized in countless ways).  These primitives are then able to be modified through a couple dozen deformers, masking, or a simple and intuitive method of adding or removing polygons and pushing or pulling on them -- just like clay.  The first method is great for inorganic shapes; the latter for the organic.  Of course, ZBrush also imports and exports in either OBJ or DXF formats so that you can use it in conjunction with most other 3D apps.[*:df7371e1cb]
• TextureMaster.  A whole slew of artists who never paid much attention to ZBrush before are suddenly standing up and taking notice now that this little number has been made available for ZBrush.  Simply put, it allows a texture artist to paint textures directly onto a 3D model without distortions and without "go betweens" like projection painting.  These textures can be painted using all of ZBrush's 2D, 2.5D and 3D tools, resulting in a 2.5D texture that has unbelievable realism even in other programs without the need to waste processor power on a bump map.  Although if you still want a bump map, ZBrush will create that for you, too.

I downloaded Zbrush before, and it send me the password, but when I type it in, the program refuses to take it. :'(

You need to type it in exactly as you see it. So the first part is in capital letters. Did you make sure you typed it in capital letters?

A couple of questions:

Was it the demo that you downloaded, or the retail version?

If copying and pasting the password doesn't work, then depending on which version you have the solution will be different.  

For the retail version, you'll find a link in the Serial_Number.txt file under the Troubleshooting section.  Use the link to get a new temporary password.

For the demo, go to www.zbrush.com.  There is a page there where you can request a new demo password.

If this still doesn't do the trick, then send an email to support@pixologic.com and they will help you out.

ZBrush Rendering is not very good...
I use it to help me with modeling... ;D

I use Softimage XSI I hate modeling organic things with any 3D app
Z Brush allows you to model organic things in a more fun natural way. I already have a Wacom pen and tablet so just need to get some funds in to begin some character modeling without the pain.
Industrail Light & Magic used Z Brush to model the Davy Jones character.
I'ts just good practice to use Z Brush with an app thats more suited to rendering and animation so you get the best out of your talent.

ZBrush is just amazing. I cant imagine my life without it. I use it everyday at home and office. You get free updates when ever they are available. Z4 is coming out soon and I cant wait to try it out !

You should check out the new features found in ZBrush 4... A lot of hard surface sculpting improvements. You might also want to check out the beta testers images... Amazing stuff... Got my update a few days ago and I am hooked !
