Denver showdown looming

Since only 12 teams make the playoffs, our NFL rankings only consist of 12 teams.

After week 10's NFL games, every team in the league has a victory under their belt. Tampa Bay knocked off the Miami Dolphins in what turned out to be a Monday night thriller. Even with the off the field problems, Miami had a real chance to break into the top 12 NFL rankings. However, the loss was just another setback for the organization.

Instead, the New York Jets make their first appearance as a top 12 team. Another newcomer into the NFL rankings are the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams that dropped out were the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Both teams have had major quarterback issues over the past few weeks, so their slide could continue.

The top of the rankings remain the same and for good reason. Kansas City has not lost a game yet this season. The Chiefs were on a bye, so they should have plenty of rest for their toughest test of the year. Women's Bruce Ellington Jersey Seattle has been a frontrunner all season in the NFC and their blowout victory over Atlanta was sorely needed.

Here are the top 12 NFL teams from last week.

1. Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs have a chance to prove all of their doubters wrong on Sunday night. As long as both teams are healthy, the Chiefs will be the underdogs. If the Chiefs win on Sunday, they'll win the AFC West barring a collapse. Next game vs. Denver.

2. Seattle Seahawks: The Seattle offense had struggled the last few games, but they came out with a purpose on Sunday. They put up 33 points on Atlanta, and the 30 point mark should be a point of emphasis for the offense. Percy Harvin is set to make his Seahakws' debut on Sunday. Next game vs. Minnesota.

3. Denver Broncos: The Broncos have had trouble protecting Peyton Manning on certain plays and his lower body is paying for it. An MRI on Peyton Manning's ankle after the Broncos' win over San Diego showed their was no additional damage. Next game vs. Kansas City.

4. New Orleans: The Saints played a perfect game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The offense put up 49 points and had a NFL record, 40 first downs. The only two losses came on the road. Next game vs. San Francisco.

5. New England: The Patriots tried to get healthy during the bye week. Running back Shane Vereen should be back in the lineup on Monday. It looks like the Patriots are getting better offensively, but can they continue to protect Tom Brady? Next game vs. Carolina.

6. Detroit Lions: The Lions have sole possession of first place in the NFC North. They also won three out of their last four games. Next game vs. Pittsburgh.

7. Carolina Panthers: The Panthers proved that they can beat a good team on the road. The defense is one of the best in the NFL and, they've been crushing opponents. Carolina is on a five game winning streak. Next game vs. New England.

8. Indianapolis Colts: The Colts did not come out strong against the St. Louis Rams. Their lucky victory over Houston masked a lot of problems. They must get better in a hurry or the Colts will be in trouble within the division. Next game vs. Tennessee.

9. San Francisco 49ers: San Francisco's offense was non existent against the Carolina Panthers. In the wins, the 49ers scored 30 or more points in every game. In the losses, San Francisco hasn't scored more than nine, and they have one touchdown. Next game vs. New Orleans.

10. Cincinnati Bengals: Chris Borland 49ers Jersey The Bengals looked like the class of the AFC North until a couple of overtime losses to start November. They have their most important game of the season on Sunday. A loss could cost them control of the division race. Next game vs. Cleveland.

11. New York Jets: The Jets have been hot and cold all season long. After their bye week, can they finally win two games in a row. Currently, the Jets would be in the playoffs if the season ended today. Next game vs. Buffalo.

12. Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles reached .500 and they are tied for first in the NFC East. Nick Foles has 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions this season. Michael Vick has been limited in practice and he refuses to talk about getting his starting job back. Next game vs. Washington.
