Hi Truespace Junkies!

I was wondering if truespace has the same or similiar capabilities as 3d studio max. I have seen alot of truespace work and I can proudly say it is amazing! even the cost of the program is very cheap. :)

I would say: Yes and no.
For animation, 3DS is much better. That is one area of major limitations with trueSpace. For still images and the like, trueSpace actually does quite well. It's a fair modeler. The NURBS implementation is not quite "true" NURBS, but far closer in tS 5 then prior versions. We do have bones, meta muscles, and a lot of those type of features. It's a good starting point, but not a replacement for 3DS. ;D Re: Hi Truespace Junkies!

You an do a lot with TS, plugins are a lot cheaper and they always send you upgrade specials. (Buy 5.2 for cheap and upgrade to 6.6 with their specials and save a ton of money)
The software is only as good as its user, and I've seen some pics made in trueSpace that rival ouput from Studio Max. (so dont let fancy pictures dictate how awesome the software is). TS is easy to use. Re: Hi Truespace Junkies!

Actually Truespace 7.6 is FREE.
FREE FREE FREE! http://www.caligari.com/ What happened was Microsoft bought them out... and then Microsoft dumped the program. So Roman has it available to download for free, including all of the video courses. Have fun! Hi Truespace Junkies!
