The game became a tradition within Summit County, annually drawing large crowds from 1948 to 1990 before it was stopped as a result of the expanding OHSAA state football playoff system.</P><P></P><P>All 28 Summit County football playing schools were consulted.</P><P></P><P>There will be two teams, East and West. Admission is $5 per person with a canned food item at the gate.</P><P></P><P>A band and cheerleaders will also be in attendance, and cancer survivor patients will be recognized.</P><P></P><P>Sims gives back to school</P><P></P><P>Nordonia High School graduate Rob Sims has given a $30,000 donation to his alma mater.</P><P></P><P>Sims, a starting left guard with the NFL Detroit Lions and former football standout at Ohio State, gave the Nordonia Athletic Booster Club the money through his Southeast Virginia Community Foundation.</P><P></P><P>Nordonia Athletic Director Rob Eckenrode said the funds will be used to offset 2014 football player pay to participate fees. Sims mother, Brenda, and sister, Robyn, made the presentation to the school.</P><P></P><P>Rob was playing at Nordonia I was unsure of how I would make Rob participation fee payment; this donation will prevent other mothers from having the same thoughts, Brenda said.</P><P></P><P>Nordonia football coach Jeff Fox is thrilled with Sims financial commitment.</P><P></P><P>generous contribution will ensure that all students who want to play football next fall will have the financial means to do so, Fox said. is with great pride and gratitude that I accept this donation on behalf of the entire Nordonia Football family. is a 2002 graduate of Nordonia High School. He was traded to the Detroit Lions in 2010 after four years with the Seahawks.</P>
