Spline Modeling

AAArrrrrgh!
Here goes. I create a spline network. i try to apply surface modifier on it. the whole thing DISAPPEARS! though still can be seen on the Select List. HELP! my nerves.....are about.... to SNAP! :) Thanx. Re: Spline Modeling

Is it really big and you run out of memory. Because before I got more memory everything disappeared but it would come back in about 5 minutes

er.... um... well... one hundred and ninghty six megs of RAM isn enough already?.... more? does it nedd MORE? HOW MUCH MORE? What? The more hte better?!! INsANE, I tell You! I N S A N E !!!
:) no but really... 196 megs... MORE? Re: Spline Modeling

196 should be good...
but in 3d theres never enough... Re: Spline Modeling

Its definetly not a memory problem. I honestly can't think if what it could be.

i used to get the same problem...
its about the procedure that the surface tools work.... ( havent used max in a while..so dont ask..) Re: Spline Modeling

no no no
just fuse the vertices. this should work. Re: Spline Modeling

Yeah.
Fuse vertices. Sometimes you have to also flip normals in surface modifier. And another thing: If you are using spline modelling remember that you have to put vertex in every splines crossection. Re: Spline Modeling

the spline cage has to be all but perfect, all the verts have to be in the exact same place and they have to create three and four sided poly's for each group thats wrong their will be no patch.

I donīt get the point, but in any case you need, as William and Tomek told, 4 or 3 sided in order to apply the Surface modifier...
If you have everything fused and 3/4sided but it keeps on being broken you will need check the "normals" options (flip and so). I think... Re: Spline Modeling

PffTtt, everyone knows you're not supposed to apply surface to your splines..but to a REFERENCE of your splines ;)
And don't forget to click Remove interior patches, and try flip normals ;D Re: Spline Modeling

What a great idea!! i'ld like to know more how many people you met on 1st sept, i'm quite late to see this blog.
Mr. president doing great with HEALTH issues, just few day's before FDA release new rules of packed food products to display all the details of energy and this are issued with taking public opinions from allover country. Very good! penis enlargement pills Nice information this is really interesting - vimax and vigrx plus - Good luck in building the table.
