Marian Catholic Rebounds To Wins Colts Have Won Three Of Four After John Brown Jersey Five Losses

The only defeat was a 14 7 loss to South Williamsport in a game Marian could have won had it Kareem Martin 4XL Jersey not turned the ball over deep in its own territory twice in the first half.

"In the last three games, we haven't given up a touchdown defensively," head coach Stan Dick said following Marian's 14 0 win over Lakeland on Saturday. "We stumbled a little bit against South Williamsport in a game I thought we might have won."

Turnovers hurt Marian for much of the season, although the Colts got a http://www.nflcardinalsofficialshop.com/Kareem_Martin_Jersey_Cardinals fumble recovery and and an interception in the early going against Lakeland. The turnovers set up both of Marian's touchdowns.

"We had it go against us early in the year, and we felt we had to take advantage of any early breaks they gave us," Dick said.

The Colts made some recent changes in the defensive line and those moves help Marian limit Lakeland to 124 yards of offense, all on the ground.

A pair of seniors Hans Kuhn and Charlie Herling www.nflcardinalsofficialshop.com/John_Brown_Jersey_Cardinals had big defensive games.

Kuhn recovered a fumble on the third play of the game, and the Colts scored seven plays later on a 14 yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Brent Andrew to sophomore receiver Scott Holloman.

Herling, who caused trouble for the Lakeland offense all day, sacked Chief quarterback Mike Selvenis midway through the fourth quarter and hurried his release on the next play, ending any mild hopes the Chiefs had of making a comeback.

"He's a senior and we started the season with him at middle linebacker before moving him to defensive end," Dick said. "We moved Hans Kuhn into the middle and that really solidified our defense."

Offensively, the Colts got 72 yards out of junior running back Chris Perhonitch and 54 yards passing from Andrew. Although the 54 yards may not look like much, the short throws, especially early in the game, kept Lakeland off balance.

"We're basically a short passing team," Dick said. "We're go for the big one occasionally, but we're basically a three step or a five step team."

Leading 14 0 at halftime, the Colts took the second half kickoff and ran off 16 plays before running out of downs at the Lakeland 18.

"Even though we didn't score, we took more than 8 minutes off the clock," said Dick, who still had some anxious moments in the quarter.

After gaining control of the ball, the Chiefs used a 34 yard run by Darrick Goodrich to move to the Marian 34. The Colts regrouped and took control of the ball on downs on the second play of the fourth quarter.
