Why are the Vikings important

It quite simple they left a lasting impression on the areas they stayed England, France, Germany, even Russia. Historians also suggest that the Scandinavian population was too large for the peninsula and there were not enough crops to feed everyone. This led to a hunt for Authentic Brad Marchand Jersey more land to feed the ever growing Viking population. Particularly for the settlement and conquest period that followed the early raids, the internal strife in Scandinavia resulted in the progressive centralisation of power into fewer hands. This meant that lower classes who did not want to be oppressed by greedy kings went in search of their own lands. All of Europe they went.

If The Vikings never existed, England would not exist as it does. Russia would not exist, and the Turks could well have conquered Byzantium without the Varangian Guard to defend them.

Why, they named Iceland and Greenland.

You see they Women's Jarome Iginla Jersey discovered this small land where it was all peaceful and good for growing crops (good weather). They didn want anyone to come there, so they named it Iceland, because they wanted everyone to think that it was cold there. ICEland.

And then, there was a big huge chunk of ice where they wanted everyone to go to instead of Iceland. Zdeno Chara Jersey The weather was horrible there, so they named it Greenland, fooling everyone to settle there.
