High school football Sidney Crosby Jersey scenarios
For teams finishing 5 5 in 4 A and 4 6 in 3 A, however, they need a solid conference record to avoid being left out of the field. The conference record is the NCHSAA's first tiebreaker.
Of note for the playoffs: Teams with 11 game schedules must drop the result of one of their non conference games. For example, Northern Guilford, which forfeited a non conference win against Northwest Guilford, gets to drop that one. So for playoff purposes, its Sidney Crosby Authentic Jersey final regular season record would be 9 1 should the Nighthawks win Friday.
For the projection, all "favorites," or teams with better conference records and overall records, were picked to win their games Friday. A barrage of upsets could swing a few things around, but not too much.
Here's a look at who is in, who needs to win and who is out among area teams and conferences:
Comments: If the Panthers beat Southeast Guilford on Friday, they will win the Metro 4 A title. Even if they lose, they still would finish second. The overall records of Southeast Guilford and Southern Alamance are enough to secure wild card berths regardless of conference finish.
Work left to do: Page (5 Marc-Andre Fleury Authentic Jersey 5), Grimsley (4 6)
Comments: If Page loses to Southern Alamance, the Pirates likely would miss the playoffs because of a 2 3 conference record that would not do them any favors in the NCHSAA's tiebreaking system. If Grimsley beats Smith, the Whirlies' 3 2 conference record could propel them into a three way tie with Page and Southeast Guilford for second place in the Metro.
Comments: A Glenn win over Ragsdale on Friday, coupled with a Northwest Guilford loss and a High Point Central win, would allow the Bobcats to finish in a tie for third with the Vikings. Since Glenn beat Northwest Guilford, Glenn would get the third automatic qualifying spot out of the Piedmont Triad 4 A. Still, even if Northwest wins, Glenn's 3 2 conference record (if it beats Ragsdale) would give it an edge in tiebreaking scenarios for a wild card spot.
Out: Ragsdale (3 7), Southwest Guilford (2 8)
Comments: Northern Guilford clinches the conference with a win over Morehead, as the Nighthawks hold the head to head tiebreaker with Western Alamance. But Northern's forfeit could help the Warriors, who should be placed in 3 A rather than 3 AA based off of recently released ADM numbers. As the NCHSAA handbook states: "Conference champions tied for first will be seeded as No. 1s if they are going into different subdivisions." Eastern has clinched third, and Williams and Eastern Guilford will make the field because of overall records.
Work left to do: Morehead (4 6), Northeast Guilford (3 7)
Comments: It's unlikely that either win on Friday, as Morehead faces Northern Guilford and Northeast Guilford faces Eastern Alamance. But a win for either could get them in. Morehead's overall record of 5 5 would likely be enough, and Northeast's 4 4 conference record would give the Rams a tiebreaker advantage against other 4 6 teams trying to reach www.hockeypenguinsshop.com/marcandre_fleury_jersey.html the field.
