NFL sends coaches tape of 'Push Rule' from Patriots

Bill Belichick's team gets flagged for violating the 'Push Rule' last Sunday, but the NFL says that Red Ryan (l.) and the Jets also should have been penalized for violating the rule.
The NFL has made it known that the controversial Push Rule that saved the Jets last week and helped them defeat the Patriots in overtime will be called more often if teams continue to violate the rule, and admitted that the Jets should have been called for the same violation at the end of the fourth quarter.
Every NFL head coach received tape from the league during the week, warning that the NFL will work with officials to spot more violations such as the one Patriots defensive tackle Chris Jones committed last week, according to ESPN. The league says Quinton Coples should've been penalized for pushing a teammate on a field goal try that tied the game to force overtime, according to the report.
The video shows Jones pushing a teammate on Nick Folk's 56 yard field goal miss. Jones was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and it led to Folk kicking a game winning 42 yard field goal. That marked the first time the rule, put in place prior to the start of this season, was enforced.
It also shows the Jets' Coples committing a similar infringement on Stephen Gostkowski's game tying 44 yarder with 19 seconds left in regulation. Coples was not penalized and later said he did nothing wrong.

The Daily News reported Monday that the Jets alerted the officials about the Patriots' pushing method.
The rule caused verbal sparring between Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick during the week. Belichick said Tuesday the Jets were guilty of violating the rule also. A day later, Rex Ryan said "That's not true."
