Jets safety Ed Reed is looking for Fireman Ed this Sunday, but he's long retired.

But there's a problem. Fireman Ed, whose real name is Ed Anzalone, walked out on the Jets during halftime of last Thanksgiving's Butt Fumble fiasco against the Patriots. There would be no more "J E T S" chants.

With the offense reeling, questions over who should be the quarterback and a de facto requirement to win four of the next five games, the Jets might take anything to try to switch up their fortune. Maybe Fireman Ed could wake up the otherwise sleepy MetLife Stadium.

The Jets have tried to recreate the "J E T S, Jets, Jets, Jets!" chant that Fireman Ed led in previous seasons, but it hasn't caught on.

This week, Gang Green squares off against the Dolphins, who will get to see what the Fireman Ed less Jets look like for the first time. Nike Colin Kaepernick Jersey Last year after Fireman Ed quit, he was called out by the Dolphins' own super fan, Big Papa Pump, for being a "wuss."

Reed has a little extra personal incentive to win Sunday: he still hasn't won a game this season. The Texans lost all seven games he played for them this season, and the Jets are 0 2 with him on the team.

"I have looked at it, of course," Reed said. "I'm not playing this game by myself. There's not 53 Ed Reeds or 46 Ed Reeds dressing out there on Sunday, that'd be a Super Bowl right there."

Added Reed: "When we do win, I might dump Gatorade on myself, so be looking for that."

And be on the lookout for Fireman Ed.
