SAN BERNARDINO >> Attorney Tim Prince began his campaign Monday to become the next city attorney, making him the first to officially announce his candidacy in any of the recall elections that might be held Nov. 5.

In a 10 minute speech after pulling papers to Mens Ronnie Hillman Jersey run, Prince contrasted what he called longtime City Attorney James F. Penman style with a promised approach.

Superior Court Judge David Cohn on Thursday said the Registrar of Voters should begin counting petitions asking for a recall of Penman and three City Council members. In the same hearing, Cohn said he would not direct the registrar to count another document that expressed opposition to increased water rates before asking for the www.footballbroncosprostore.com/broncos-ronnie-hillman-jersey-c-36.html signatory name to be removed from petitions asking for the recall of any city officials.

Cohn said the document, which Penman stands by, gave the false impression it was about preserving water rates.

Friends, after Nov. 5 no judge will ever be asked on behalf of the city to put his imprimatur on such actions ever again.

people of San Bernardino have never known me to walk away from a fight, and this is a fight worth waging, he said. recall is about the water, and it about low income housing. also scoffed at the charge that he was overly political, noting that during his tenure the city has won the vast majority of the lawsuits it was engaged in.

find it highly ironic that he would say that standing next to Joe Baca, Penman said.

Among the dozen supporters at Prince announcement were former Councilman Dennis Baxter and Joe Baca, who previously represented the San Bernardino area and is running for Congress again.

Prince father, Ralph Prince, was city attorney for 28 years until Penman defeated him in 1987.

Monday was the first day candidates could begin the process of filing as a provisional candidate, meaning that they become a candidate whenever the city calls for an election A decision expected Sept. 3 if enough signatures are validated. As of Monday afternoon, appointments to discuss candidacy had been made by Roxanne Williams in Ward 3, Henry Nickel in Ward 5 and Paul Sanborn in Ward 7, according to the city clerk office.
