Scripting problem - please give an advise!

I write scripting position controller for my object $Obj.
How can I write to controller script window to access to $Obj not directly, but as to 'object controlled by this controller';
We can use $ to access selection; how can we access to controlled by current controller object?
I need it because I build a dozen of instances of $Obj, and position controllers of each instance drives one object - $Obj, overwise it's 'root'
