Real Room lighting
By Ahmed on Nov 28, 2000 08:21 AM
I have created my room in 3dsMaxR3. And I want to use real lighting as in my room. There are two tube lights in my room. I used omni lights but it did not look interesting.

Have you tried using a line of omni lights. But change the colour so they are darker(give out less light) and probably add a small amount of yellow colour.

Also placing some directional lights to simulate light reflecting off the walls, et cetera, should help.

A really cool way of making realistic lighting is the old motion blur trick: make your lights move around a bit (I usually have them rotating around an empty/null object) during one frame, then render your scene with motion blur.
