Every year around St. Patrick's Day, we find ourselves struggling to find something green to wear. How can we look cute and comfortable for the day's festivities while avoiding painful pinching?


Not only is St. Patty's just around the corner, but Pantone recently dubbed emerald green the hottest colour for spring 2013, which means there's no better time than now to start incorporating the earthy hue into our wardrobes.


While some of these looks may be more suited for the red carpet than your neighbourhood pub, you can't deny some of these stars rock shamrock while others need a little help in the hue department.


From green gowns to green hair, check out these Hollywood Dos and Don'ts for going green!


DO: Kate MiddletonThe Duchess looked stunning at a 2012 St. Patrick's Day parade in Aldershot in an elegant green dress coat and an Irish Guards brooch that belonged to the Queen Mother so beautiful, in fact, that she caused a soldier to faint.


DON'T: Holly MadisonThe famous playmate celebrated at O'Sheas Casino in Las Vegas for St Patty's in 2010 in a festive (and very revealing) outfit.

DO: Sandrah OhThe "Grey's Anatomy" star looked every bit of a Grecian goddess in this dark emerald draped dress she wore on February 1, 2013 to the NAACP Image Awards.


DON'T: Nicki MinajSt. Patrick's day is certainly a riotous affair, but Nicki's outfit borders on crazy.

DON'T: RihannaIn a rare fashion misstep, Rihanna wore a tealcoloured top michael kors outlet online and matching widelegged, anklelength pants for her fragrance launch in 2011. Moral of the story: beware green feathers.

DON'T: Lady GagaLady Gaga wore a green leather dress and heels, with matching long green locks back in June 2011. When asked about her ensemble, Gaga responded she wore it 'for liberation and for the environment.' Riiight.
