Callaway unveils X Hot irons and X-Hot 24 irons

The deep undercut design allows Callaway to precisely position the centre of gravity and move the most compliant part of the face - the hottest part - lower, where most golfers make contact with the ball.
For the first time, Callaway has also incorporated Speed Frame Face Technology from its drivers into the Callaway X Hot Irons to optimise stiffness across the face for more ball speed and consistent distance on off-centre hits. The X Hot irons have been meticulously engineered both in terms of physical characteristics and club configuration to increase ball speed and promote overall distance optimisation, says Callaway's senior vice president of research & development Dr. Alan Hocknell. The callaway X-24 hot irons have been developed by Callaway engineers for golfers preferring to hit an iron to a long par-3 or fly a hazard to reach a par-5 in two shots. It says the clubs' VFT Face Technology, 360-degree undercut channel and a precise centre of gravity help create a large hitting area to generate maximum distance while maintaining both forgiuveness and accuracy. Says Briton, Dr. Alan Hocknell, head of Callaway's Research and Development in the US: We recognise there are golfers looking for distance gains throughout their entire bag. So we employed our core technologies and faster ball speeds into the design of X-24 Hot irons, to create a longer, more accurate set than Callaway X-22 Irons in the X-Series.
