If you’re new to the game, or just looking for some sensational irons for 2012, you should take a serious look at TaylorMade’s RocketBallz irons.

Replacing the hugely-impressive Burner 2.0 Irons, the TaylorMade RBZ irons have each been designed individually to optimise performance through enhanced trajectory. The irons feature a large, thin face that’s strong and stiff at the edges (for more forgiveness) and thin at the inner edge for great distance out of the sweetspot.

Within the cavity back design of the RBZ Irons is the ‘Toe Bar’ feature, which can be found in the upper toe and helps to increase accuracy on all shots. Turning you inconsistent shot shape into a straighter ball shape and flight. Each taylormade rocketballz irons comes with the RBZ advanced feel system which includes an acoustic polymer and constrained layer which improves feel and sound. This design dampens unwanted vibrations without slowing the club face down through impact.

The irons from 3-5 feature a new, hollow construction (similar to a metalwood) which allows the centre of gravity to be lower for a higher ball launch and more distance. The shorter irons are more compact, although still easy to hit, for those wanting a touch more playability in the scoring clubs.

The 4 and 5 irons have a hollow club head construction which is similar to what is found in TaylorMade’s fairway woods. The 455 carpenter steel allows the wholesale golf clubs face to be stronger and more durable than standard iron club faces. Within the 4 and 5 iron the centre of gravity is in the centre and low to the ground so this will allow you to have a pure contact when hitting off the turf.

The thickness of the face changes throughout the full set to help you generate more speed and distance. The pitching wedge features the thickest face whilst the 4 iron features the thinnest face. The thicker face of the pitching wedge also increases the amount of feel you receive from the club face.

In words, in creating the taylormade rbz irons, TaylorMade did the unthinkable! These technological advancements will be visible to the golfer upon first contact with a ball.
