This one was inspired by one of the best artists ever, Ralph McQuarrie. I know the composition is not the most fortunate one. The initial sketch had a simple "one point perspective" composition, but I've tried to experiment with something more complex. Ralph would be proud. He's the one who did most of the Star Wars concept work. He's a great role model for this.

This image pays tribute to some of the classic scenes of Science Fiction that hopefully will never fade from my memory! Before Star Wars popularized the floating CloudCity, there were floating Cityscapes such as yours (no offense, but that is what it resembles to me). Back in the late 1960's the Star Trek television city even depicted a city floating on a cloud; supposedly suspended by a anti-gravity mechanism of some sort. This is the heart and soul of imagination and science brought out in illustration! Please, please keep on doing what you do! I will check out the 'further details' link right away. Best wishes!
