OverLander is so nice. RAMP seems like 2D. It is not perfect 3D.
This is truly original concept other than only four wheels...Excellent render...I am currently working on a movie title and would like to discuss the usage of this vehicle...At a fine cost of course...Let me know if your interested...Congrats...!!
hmmm ok it seems the submission process and my error has listed the Laketown image as 3d when its not its 2d.
Sorry everyone for the confusion - it wasnt my intention to fool anyone.
Just to clarify things -
the Overlander image IS 3d - the vehicle was Modelled and Textured and Rendered using Lightwave 3d.
The Tundra background is a 2d Matte Painting, The Vehicle is then lit and rendered to match the background plate of the painting.
The Lakeside Image is a 2d Matte Painting.I never stated this is 3d.Please google seach Matte Painting if u need more info.
hey im a student and i study visual art for the hsc and i think that both of them are beautiful . And even tho sum people think Laketown might not be 3D but i strongly disargee its not a flat painting a lake and a few trees .In my opinion Laketown looks more like the artist just took a foto of this painting and i think they did a great job at it !!
i would have to say lake town is one beautifull and mysterious, as if you are watching and waiting for somthing amazing to happen. it reminds me of a song castles in the sky for it is almost as faint but the castle looks as if it is floating.
I like the first one, Over Lander.
but i dont like second one Lake Town.
Is it 3D?
I dont think so.
I find it very well done. The lighting rig on the vehicle matches the lighting in the photograph. You did a very good job of blending the rendered image with the background. The tracks from the vehicle are a nice touch.
For those of you saying this isn't 3d artwork, I suggest you read how the image was put together again. It says that the vehicle was modeled and rendered using Lightwave. It was then composited in to the matte painting. It is exactly the same thing the ILM did for many of the spacecraft in the Star Wars movies. I dare any of you to say that that is not 3d artwork.
