Yeah. I do kind of agree with Area404, and even if high renders cost millions in Hollywood Lei here proves you can get pretty damn close on a budget and with a bit o skill. Awesome!

I hate that kind of jealousy in art. Its pretentious! Dont you realise that cgi is groundbreaking in terms of reality. Dont you watch the occational hollywood, visual effects laden film. Yes! This hyper realistic rendering can be achieved in the odd cg still image as well. Thats why I like it. CG takes art into the future. When people keep rendering scenes to look like an oil painting, I find that a bit irritating. I say buy a canvas its cheaper! Only when you animate it and this is the style you are working to is when unrealistic renders make any sense. Extreme abstract scenes are great in CG as well as character/potrait art like many other styles. The point is that it is great to see art that cannot be created traditionally. That, I feel, is the nature of CGI. I will say this that if it is art for arts sake it is good to create any type of art with CG. With CG anything can be accomplished and I suppose that is the main point. .......Also I agree with Hans (further down)!!
Oh and great work lei, I think you may know what i'm trying to say!

Perhaps because it's common practice in portrait photography to use a large aperture size to blur the background to bring focus on the target, in this case the girl's face.

This is another clear example of a picture taken from a digital camera, applyied some effects and then posted as if it was created pixel to pixel. I will never understand why they always have the richest details on the face and unclear points such as in the clothes and background. For me, it is fake. I don't believe in god.

i think this picture is amazing - not only for the realism captured in small details like the eyebrows, but also for the surreal quality and obvious humour inherent in it. too many 3D artists are concerend with creating 'perfection' as they see it. something with a twist is always more arresting. oh, and leave everything just the way it is - it is realistic enough to fool people at first glance, but also strange enough to keep you looking.

Please, do the eyes larger or the mouth smaller. :)) No, really, this is very realistic. I think you deserve a 10 point vote.

There's something about that mouth that takes away from the realism. It might be too wide, but maybe not.

I agree with Charles: although a youngsters' eyes are supposed to be bigger than they would be on an adult proportionately, the mouth is a bit wide; the corners practically jut below the pupils (which are a touch big, actually) of the eyes...which are aimed sideways..therefore if the smile was less wide, the chin could be more narrow without sacrificing that youthful apple-face roundness.

I agree also with the anonymous poster about the over-reflection of the eyes. Maybe the artist loves anime (I do too), but if the goal is realism, then no, some of those highights are too many.

Otherwise, excellent and beatiful.
