I think that the vains and detail in the arms are great. But i too think that the background needs more texture.

I see you have copied a roleplaying character from "drakar & demoner" and the riotminds homepage...

This is an excellent piece of imagery, very well detailed, original character. Like someone said earlier, the background could be improved, maybe include out of focus trees and bushes. His horns or antlers needs some slight bump mapping, notice his horn/antler on the left of the image the light saturation makes it look flat. Otherwise well done.
