I think the artist here had a hard time on the textures, therefor blurred the image radially. In my opinion, a smart move. If you look at the edge of the wooden roof, you'll see that the texture is stretching out a bit. Same wit hthe wooden log, the texture folds inwards, making it look look a smooth rounded edge, instead of rigid and edged. May I ask, no offense, if the artist is new at 3d arts? I'm a 'beginner' at it myself, with the same difficulties, that's why I noticed them so fast. Using blur, he directed attention to more central parts of the image, blurring out any disturbing elements in his image, still keeping is aestatic.
