It looks like most of the detail,including shading lies in the texture.This gives it an odd airbrushed look.I think if you replace these textures with bump maps,while difficult,it would make it look a lot better.And I dont use softimage so I dont know if it supports a more realistic rendering method similar to mental ray and the like,but if it does that would also help make it look less ''computery'' or cartoonish.
