your "imaginary masjid" is wonderfull.i like the shades in the bottom the turkish stile of this mosque was your choice cause it is a richy disign good work
"An imaginary masjid" is remarkably similar to the building "mosque of Ahmed The first", whether or not this was intentional, it's still cool looking. If you don't knwo the building I'm talking about, look in the Islamic section of any large art hist book.

I think your images look good. Try rendering these images with radiosity if you can. I think that would pump up the lighting realism.
for your image "An Imaginary Masjid", a possible way of making it even better is to perhaps give dimension to the sky. Add clouds or if you want the cloudless sky effect, add a subtle gradient. I do like the detail in the building though. Excellent work
