This comment is for a posting made by "Rik".

I quote him/her as saying "While this is well executed, I don't understand the piece of art. A piece of art must communicate to the beholder in order to be truely appreciated."

While I understand where you are coming from by not "understanding" this piece of art and your posting was purely constructive criticism (thank you for that), I don't see why you would say such a thing as art having to be "understood" to be appreciated. Artists for centuries have created masterpieces that are abstract (a popular example would be "The Scream" by Edvard Munch). Whole genres have been born and were alive because of Abstract artistry. This piece of work, in my opinion, conveys the absolute anarchy of what drug addiction would feel like and HOPEFULLY is not a personal experience for the artist :O) I think that in art a particular feeling or emotion (such as depression, misery or horror) can only be portrayed in an abstract way. The artist is trying to communicate with the audience the way HE/SHE sees addiction and that HE/SHE doesn't even understand it. Bravo to you Rik for posting your honest opinion and most definitely bravo to Vladislav Druchin for creating such a beautiful piece of artwork. You and many others are the reason art is still stunning the world.

A scene from a Resident Evil game perhaps? Good work.
